Manchester 6 Junior players last week took the field for some very exciting games. The club had the pleasure of two interclub clashes last week in under 7 & 9. Whilst the boys and girls do take their football seriously the end result is always a happy affair as the one and true champion out of these Games is Man 62 FC.  So take your time to read the match reports.

Under 7

Man 62 U7 Girls had an easy game against St Joseph younger team, they won about 7-1 and Man 62 U7 girls whites played really well against a very strong St Joseph’s, girls had some chances and St Joseph didn’t manage to score until the second half and although it ended 3-0 the Girls were extremely proud of their achievement.  The club would also like to extend their appreciation to the Girls parents for their weekly support and especially coaches Angelo and Maxim who are working wonders with the girls.
Manchester 62 FC Reds Vs Manchester 62 FC   The Young Reds played against the older Manchester Boys in what was going to be a one sided match.  Man 62 Red went out to defend and minimize the score from a previous friendly .  The team started well and went infront with a great goal from Matthew Asquez,  who was able the chip the ball over the opponents Keeper.  After that effort the older Manchester stepped up a gear and started to score the goals.  The younger reds spent most of the game defending and you could clearly see the experience that the opponents had.
Final Score 1 – 8.

Under 9
The Under 9 game was a similar affair of that the under 7’s.  Both teams played out their football but the senior team got the better of the juniors.  All in all the club can show that the development of these teams are going in a positive steady pace.web
 Under 11
Both under 11 had the opposite ends of the stick.  Whilst the junior under 11 side lost 15-0 the senior side managed 17-0.  Although playing the Girls team the snr Man 62 team took the opportunity to use this game as an opportunity to try new tactics.  It proved worthwhile and effective day for the team.
 Under 13
Man 62 FC U13 lost against an older college 1975 4-0. It was an impressive first half by Manchester where we held them 0-0 until the dying minutes when college scored a cracker from outside the box to go 1-0 up just before half time… Second half started well although college enjoyed most of the possession and eventually 3 more goals came from what was clearly the age difference by the end of the match. All in all a good performance and a massive improvement from a 14-0 defeat in the first round against that same team.
All in all a good weekend for the juniors.  Although not winning every game the club will continue with the development of its players and coaches for the betterment of football.
