Manchester 62 Red Under 9 played against College Europa Green, funnily enough the last game was in the pouring rain and today the team had the other side of the coin with scorching sun. Nevertheless the team played an excellent game and very quickly went into the lead when Jamie Cortes scored directly from a corner, only minutes later the Reds added a second again through Jamie Cortes who picked up a loose ball in the area. Man62 kept control throughout the entire half and then at the mid point they added a third goal through Carl De Torres. As the half was coming to an end the Reds managed to score a fourth goal, on this occasion Jack Sherriff was at the end of a good through ball. The half finished with a comfortable lead of 4-0 to the reds. In the second half the players were instructed to pass the ball about, to which the team responded beautifully by stringing pass after pass and making the opposition constantly run after the ball. Midway through the second half Renai Marcus made a solo run from the middle of the pitch to the opposing goal and took a superb shot to which the College keeper was unable to respond, taking the score to 5-0. The game was totally under control with three Man62 defenders Evan Busto, Evan Penfold and Liam Borge totally cancelling out any attempts by college ensuring keeper Noah Sene had a quiet game and kept a clean sheet. In the dying minutes of the game the Reds added their final goal of the day when Nicholas Andrews tapped in a good pass. The game finished with a comfortable and commanding score of 6-0.
Superb and solid performance by the entire team.
