Manchester 62 Red U9 played against Glacis United, due to the holidays the team was quite low on Players and had only 7 young players to play the entire game, also finding themselves without their keeper. In the first half the keeper’s position was covered by our usual striker Jamie Cortes. The game started with the Reds pushing the opposition back into their own area, and it only took Carl De Torres a few minutes to open the scoreline and only minutes later to be followed by a second, Glacis had a lucky break with a near the area free kick and managed to claw one back. Nevertheless that was the end of any sort of reaction from our oponents with our defence made up by Evan Penfold, Liam Borge and Evan Busto making sure Glacis had no further shots in the half, on the contrary the goals kept on coming from the Reds. The second half was a complete monologue by the Reds with Evan Busto now in goal making a couple of superb saves, the Reds took the overall score to a comfortable win of 12-0. Scorers on the the day were Carl De Torres with an impressive 6, Renai Marcus 3, Jamie Cortes 2 and for the first time this season Jake Navarro getting on the score sheet with a superb goal.
Under 7 Manchester 62 FC
The Reds played well vs a senior St Josephs team although losing the first half 5-0 the second half showed the character of the team. The team saw a great performance from all the young players and a spectacular free kick from Alfie Monton. The final score was 8-1.
