Russian cheese 300 g

Butter 50 g

cumin pinch

Cooking instructions 30 minutes

1 The bread must be stale – if you can find freshly baked bread at the bakery in the morning, open it and leave it to dry out. After this, cut the loaf into squares of three centimetres’ width.

2 Put a little butter on each slice and cover with a slice of cheese.

3 Then literally “sprinkle” the cumin over the bread in one or two strokes, which is just enough. You can use cumin instead – but it tastes spicier.

4 Place the croutons on a baking tray covered with baking paper and put them in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for about twenty minutes.
