Focus on weekend’s Junior and Futsal Action – Manchester 62 FC

Sunday morning saw the under 7 and under 9 games cancelled due to the gale force winds. So unfortunately no new photos or news to report.

A nice game of futsal was played at 4pm on Sunday with Man 62 taking on Lions FC. Both teams were present with only 6 players each which becomes an issue when these are veterans.

The game started very slow with 62 pressing Lions in their half. Although 62 players are mainly veterans in their 30′s they have maintained their fitness levels and sharpness on the pitch, Yet again we had an impressive display by Aaron Asquez and a wonderful goal by 49 year old Ernest Gilbert who did as we know locally as a sombrero and then volleyed the ball in.

Adrian Lopez (Stand in Goal Keeper) kept Lions at bay only conceding one goal. Dwyane Etherington and Alex Lopez had a solid game, keeping veteran striker Johan Martinez at bay. Alex is still looking for his first goal this season. (In Alex Lopez we trust….you can do it). Manuel Bosio had the pleasure of covering goal in the second half as full time keeper Albert Chichon was unable to attend.

The squad will be looking to add some teenagers so that they experience the game in the near future, We are also looking for a permananet futsal manager to lead us to glory.

All in all it was a good game all around especially with the score ending 12-4.
