Manchester 62 FC Senior Squad Secure 2nd Place – Manchester 62 FC

Big win from Manchester 62 today as we secure second spot in the league. The team battled all throughout the match as St Josephs reinforced side looked dangerous with tantalising dead ball strikes from their number 8 Bruno. 62 too were on the front foot with a good run down the left by Alvaro Navarro who unleashed a powerful shot which was saved by keeper Macedo but on the rebound Alvaro Navarro netted the ball. The game was fiercely fought whilst the two teams took some chances on either side. A low shot free kick under the Man 62 wall found a Kevin De Lo Santos producing what was to be the save of the match for Man 62 FC.

The first half ended with 62 in the lead.

7 minutes into the second half Man 62 had Kevin Martinez sent off and a freekick on the edge of the area. Nothing came from the freekick but the team had to reorganise at the back. The game continued with 62 playing on the break with a tireless effort from the midfield players. On the 70th Minute a counter saw several 62 players lunging forward. An inch perfect pass from Jeremy Lopez saw Esteiven Morenete complete an inch perfect run into the box to place the ball past keeper Macedo.

The game continued with several subs as Man 62’s10 man effort started to take its toll. The introduction of David Duarte, Matt Reoch and Leigh Adnett secured the win for the reds.

Next game will be the ever vital semi final game vs College on the 26th April hope to see you all Cheering the lads.
