This weekend the Senior Ladies secured a spot in the Ladies Cup Final to be played this coming Saturday against St Joseph’s, by beating Lions in the Semi Final. The first half was a bit all over the place, as the Manchester midfield was unable to get control of the game, which lead to Lions having more position of the ball, both teams had chances. Second half changed completely, it was all Man 62 and the team had an early goal as Shanice Bebeagua was pressuring up front really well and gave Joelle Gilbert to score a great goal from outside the box, and straight to the right top corner. Man 62 carried on pressuring, and having good chances, Lions tried, but they couldn’t get past by the solid Man 62 defenders and Gynaika Mena had to make a couple of good saves as she covered in goal for an injured Eva Silva. with 10 minuted before the match ended, Man 62 scored the second goal, a beautiful goal, that started from the back with great passes and got to Joelle Gilbert once again to score another nice goal. The double is still a possibility and the team can’t wait to get there hands on a second trophy this season. This weekend the Girls lifted the League trophy which they had already won before the Easter break.
The Senior Men where not as lucky as they lost against Collage Europa in the Semi-finals of the Rock Cup on penalties. The dream of playing in the Europa League next season is still alive although the Reds will have to wait on Lincoln to reach the final and win it.
